Six Months Later... A Time to Reflect



When was the last time you stopped to look back?
Not just at your commissions...
Not just at your referrals...
But at everything you've accomplished over the past six months?

The beginning of the year is often filled with excitement and goals. By the middle of the year, many of us are simply trying to keep up.

Sound familiar?

The past six months have reminded me that running an online business is rarely a straight line. Sometimes you're celebrating new ideas and improvements. Sometimes you're solving unexpected problems. Sometimes life itself gets in the way. The important thing isn't avoiding obstacles. It's continuing to move forward.

Take a Moment to Evaluate

Ask yourself...
What worked well?
What didn't?
What can you improve?
What new opportunities have appeared?
Are your goals still the same as they were in January?



Get Detailed With Your Goals!

You want to have your goals broken down into these categories:
Yearly
Monthly
Weekly
Daily

Please share your goals with someone. Make yourself accountable. Sometimes the biggest success isn't making a dramatic change. Sometimes it's making lots of small improvements that add up over time.

Celebrate the Wins

Too often, we focus only on what still needs to be done. Instead, take a moment to recognize what you've accomplished.
Maybe you...
gained new referrals,
improved your website,
learned a new skill,
created a new promotion,
or stayed consistent.
Those are all victories worth celebrating.

Set New Goals

Don't wait until January to make another resolution. The middle of the year is a perfect time to reset. Choose one or two realistic goals for the next three months. Small, consistent improvements often produce the biggest results over time.

Keep Moving Forward

No matter where you are today...
Keep learning.
Keep improving.
Keep promoting.
Your next breakthrough may be closer than you think.

I can tell you from personal experience that progress isn't always measured in dollars. Sometimes progress looks like:
clearer policies,
a redesigned website,
happier members,
learning a new skill,
or finding a better way to do something.



Growth

Not just business growth. Personal growth, too. Businesses evolve because the people running them evolve.

If someone had told me six months ago that I'd be doing all the things that I am doing, I probably would have laughed and said, "I'm not techy." Now? I'd probably answer: "I'm self-taught, with a little help from my friends."

No matter where you are today, never stop learning. Every time you improve, no matter how small, you bring yourself one step closer to your goals.

Six months from now, take another moment to look back. You may be surprised by just how far you've come.

Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep moving forward. Your future self will thank you for not giving up today.

There have been challenges, frustrations, and more than a few moments where I wondered if I was in over my head. But there have also been so many victories—some big, many small. I've learned things I never imagined I'd be doing, from working in databases to redesigning pages, solving problems, and even embracing AI as a tool to help me build a better experience for my members. If someone had told me a year ago I'd be doing all of this, I would have laughed. What really resonated with me was your reminder that progress isn't always measured in dollars. Sometimes it's measured in learning something new, making your community stronger, improving your site one step at a time, and realizing you're capable of more than you thought. Thank you for the reminder to look back once in a while instead of always looking ahead. Sometimes we don't realize how far we've come until we stop and reflect. Beautiful post, Jo. 💙

I would like to see my grandson's wedding, but that's still at least 15 years away! So I want to be here with you for a long time! What are my plans? As I said before, I don't really have any concrete plans, because everything could collapse in an instant, now that my partner has also become ill.....so the situation is not really good. BUT I do have a tiny little plan: I would like to create a Skype group, but it's still only in my head......one day there will be someone with whom I can do this, I don't know, maybe......it's all uncertain But there is one thing: I am very grateful to be here with you, that you have endured, - because I know that there are some who don't like me - but every minute I spend with you fills me with a little energy and keeps me going! Special thanks to Jolyn - who always does the most for me, listens, solves and comforts me, and even though she is very far from me, I feel like her words embrace me every time. Thank you Jolynn.
